Don't know about UK but here in Canada you do unless you set yourself up as a company.
Gains are taxable and losses offsetable.
Unlike spread betting where no CGT
Oh, no SDRT on CFDs

Ummm... I meant do any of you actually physically pay capital gains on your proceeds from CFD trading. I know the tax laws etc.

Revenue Canada can certainly read and I am sure they can in the Inland Revenue too.

Yep. Was wondering if proceeds from CFDs are exempt from capital gains under the 6K rule... I've never had to deal with that one at work so I'm not sure. I might phone up the HMRC agents helpline.
