Spreadbetting as a US Citizen

Situation:
I am a US citizen, living outside US. I want to open an IG Index account. I need help strategizing. I have not contacted IG for fear they'll immediately say no, assuming I'm participating in illegal activity. I am required to and plan to report income for US taxation, so I'm not asking you to enable me to do anything illegal.

Strategy so far:
Register with IG Index using address and country of residence (Spain). But ... I don't have any Spanish ID docs, just US Passport, US Driving License, etc.

Questions:
1. Will IG require ID documents to open account?
2. If I get a UK mailing address and UK phone number, will IG require ID documents to open account?
3. How should I fund account to best protect privacy? Will I need to open an offshore or UK account?
4. I've hunted high and low for answers to these questions, so please share any existing resources if you know of them.

Ha, good observation. I use a VPN for most web browsing - anonymity and security: witopia.net.

I've read over it and definitely won't be doing so. I'm looking for more details on the account opening process so that it will be smooth - can you help me?
