What sectors still do well in a recession?

Hello

What UK sectors still do well during recessions? I know its not always a rule of thumb, but I'm sure there must be some industries that could still be doing well?

Single Malt whisky is currently booming, not a general thing though.
 
Buy anything to do with babys/infants/mothercare.

The hatches are battoned down and in 9-12 months will be a battalion
of screaming babies popping out. :LOL::LOL::LOL:
 
well, I was flicking through BBC business teletext two weeks back showing my 13 yr old the popular stocks page, he chose Cadbury, Rolls Royce, Unilever and United Utilities as the 4 he'd buy.
