Will the Obama inauguration boost equities?

I believe that traditionally a small rally occurs when a new president is inaugurated, but I don't remember where I read that so it's purely anecdotal.

Obama is going to save the world!

Well, that's what SO MANY people expect of him. If he was a stock his price would be so high I doubt there's room for much more upside. That means there's a lot of downside potential, maybe as much as 75%..................

Having said that he has got a plan - borrow more and more and more money :) :) :)

I am currently gearing myself up for a boost in equities after the Obama inauguration. Does anyone else think that a few "rally the troops" speeches will give back a bit of confidence to the markets? Personally I'm looking at a return to 4500 for the FTSE 100.

More on my views at: Financial spread betting diary trading FTSE 100, S&P and Dow Jones.

...and we'll go down with it.

As I said before get learning Mandarin - they are soon to be our new masters.
