I gather in the usa any margin called positions not met by 3pm usa time are then just dumped on the market. looking back one can sometimes see big moves either up or down at that time.

anyone know when brokers in the uk dump failed margin call positions on the market ? is it 3pm uk time?

they usually give a margin call at 30-50% and when price reaches 20% it automatically liquidates the larger position until your margin is bigger than 20%.

Different companies though, different company manuals

thanks magos. an automatic dump? do they not give a few hours notice and a deadline? i was thinking when in the uk they get dumped. i know one uk trader got a margin deadline of 4pm.
