Is the world ending?

My pension is going down the drain and I won't be retiring anymore.

Is the world ending?

As we know it

My pension is going down the drain and I won't be retiring anymore.

Correct.

The question is...what are you going to do about it ? given that others cannot be relied upon to manage your future.

A friend of mine has seen his pension go from £ 36,000 to £ 7000 this year. Hes lucky he wont be due for retirement for another 30 yrs or so.

yea, and i was actually hoping the 700 billion will bail us all out.
Hope i will be able to recover my lost within 3 months...

Honestly I reckon the only real reason was the dow passing ten thousand. And it went through ten thousand because it could.

Today... Dead cat bounce or total meltdown I think. If we have coordinated rate cuts I think the market will spike up and then crash so gotta be ready to fade that move. Probably.

I guess the theory is that with credit being hard to come by, people are selling out of everything to get cash.

The usual rules about correlating & non correlating markets cannot really be relied upon right now IMO.

700B goes to a black hole, and fat cats keep throwing bad news to media to pull the whole market down. Then they will jump in ?

So if you know so much about what the 'fat cats' are doing why not join them and make a mint?

The fund manager should be sacked! (unless it's a SIPP - in which case your friend should seek a managed fund!)

For those of you (including myself) putting money into pensions - now is an ideal time to contribute - your £ will buy more units that will increase your pot significantly when the recovery comes (how ever many years that will be!)

It's mainly those who are due to retire in the next 3-5 years that will suffer.

Is the world ending?

Yes.
If you want to know the exact time and date send me a cheque for £29.99. You will also receive several bonus products never previously advertised which will prove an invaluable aid to self sufficiency in the next life.:devilish:

i am cool and happy, so yes waiting for the dow to collapse then i can transfer my pension back inthe equities.

You mean a mismanaged fund by the fund manglers.;)

A reminder to everyone:

You can now manage your "Protected Rights" in a SIPP.

This far better than hoping the manglers don't do anything incredibly stoopid with the without profits fund. My fund manglers are still 60+% in Shares and Property.
