Who is actually getting bailed out?

When the media talks about banks getting bailed out, who are the individuals who are actually getting saved?

When the banks get bailed out the employees seem to lose their jobs and the shareholders lose equity. So who's benefiting?

No-one!! The bailout has been voted out!!

Actually we all benefit in indirect ways. Banks will still be able to lend, to businesses will still invest, will employ people who can spend money which means other businesses continue to make profit etc etc.

Remove the banking cog and investment, then employment, spending etc all dries up to a trickle.
