Well… the other day I was trading on *snip* - Oil seemed to be rather volatile in nature these days. Betting on oil most recently is quite dilemmatic. Monday saw a bad day for Oil. Oil again settled lower. Demand from china has declined as there was a concern about the supply disruptions. Chinese crude imports declined and this led crude to be down by 7%.
Hmm….looks like that crude would be fluctuating and may be lower by end of this year.

Oil is one of the most volatile instruments you can bet on and has been volatile in nature ever since we needed it so badly. Being a bad day for monday....some win, some lose, depends what side your on but would imply that you where looking Long. Monday was an insignificant day with a below average move (50 sessions), this is in despite of the troubles in Georgia.

What I do know that oil being down on monday and all other subsequent days will make it cheaper for me to buy things and cheaper to fill up my car, for me thats a good day.

As for the chinese imports(oil) being down, this was highly expected once the olympic games had got on their way since building and preperation would have ceased, this is expected to drop further when its over and further still weeks and months following that to steady out for the colder months starting in oct/nov.

It would seem highly likely for crude to be down from its current levels by end of year, the real question is how much pain in the meantime and at what best levels to get in to for shorts. Theres always money to be made in Longs, even in a falling market, it just makes it harder fighting against the grain.

yes....Oil is one of the volatile currency market. There were days when Oil was all weak and now we see oil is doing absolutely well in the market.

If we just take the case of yesterday, crude rose as hurricane Gustav threatened oil production in the Gulf of Mexico although weakening demand and the strengthening dollar kept prices off an earlier session high.

strange is the position of oil... traders just need time to understand how the oil will do

I lost money many a times on oil.. for more news on oil .....just get back to *snip*

Oil has always been volatile. It's just that it's suddenly of interest to every newbie entering the market and hoping to give their money to the big banks because it's in the news.
