Reuters Messenging

umm, if its the same Reuters Messenger i've got installed, then it was free. Its basically a rebadged version of MSN messenger, except an older model without any of the filetransfer, or silly picture messaging emoticon stuff.

I dont remember exactly how I got hold of it, i think a colleague who subscribes to Reuters talked me through the download & setup process but it was a few years ago and i've slept/boozed since then.

Well, all I want to do is chat to my mate about trading on it. He's at a bank and can't use other IM products.

Might well be free but I'm not sure. Try asking them. Might depend who you are.

But it's just another AIM type product - and not hugely sophisticated at that. So unless you have a bunch of mates at banks etc to chat to on it, what are you planning to use it for? I'm sure there are better IM clients out there.

Actually, RIM is capable of working with your AIM, YM and MSN, which makes it handy for folks who use more than on IM client.

It definitely isn't feature rich, though. I think that's possibly a function of it being an enterprise platform which can allow for company controls (potentially including the storage of IMs).
