Just been reading a couple of these forums, seems trading is not as easy as people seem to suggest, well trading to produce a steady income. I'm not going to ask how long till steady income/how much money etc. questions that most newbies ask, simply would like to know how much personal time I would need to invest, just to simply deduce whether trading (part-time) would be something I could get into?

A friend of mine recently attended anthony robbins wealth mastery course , seems to have enjoyed it a lot, and is soon to start trading? What are your views on these events?

Thanks for any feedback.

You could decide in 1 minute whether part-time trading is something you could get into.

The real questions is, will you be successful?

To be successful, you need a robust strategy. And to find a robust strategy takes many, many, many, many, many, many hours of reading, testing, changes of paths etc. etc.

Taking the plunge and deciding to give trading a go, is like throwing yourself down the proverbial rabbit hole. You're not exactly sure where it will take you.........

lol thanks, I guess I'll start with the reading before I take the plunge!

Starting small is the key as there are a lot of technical and pyschological hurdles to
overcome before you can do well. You'll be well on your way if you understand this and don't fall into the trap of many beginners who make a few quid and think they were
'born to trade'.

Trading is a very technical and intellectual hobby, but also very rewarding as your
research will allow you to broaden your investment knowledge.

My advice would be to read a little bit and open up a demo account to learn how to execute trades and get comfortable with margin, trade size and p&l moves. Once
you're feeling ok you can open a real account. Again don't plunge too deep. The more
money in your account the better but it is possible to open an fx/sb account quite cheaply (£300 or so) to just start at the minimum and begin your journey.

Losing a little bit can be like paying your dues at trading college. Find out cheaply if the games for you! (y)
