Thank you Sarah.

I had a good look round and could'nt find any.

You can however open demo accounts with several brokers and get an MT4 with feed.
This is a useful way of checking that your SB companies feed is consistant with an independant feed.
If you trade short-term though be sure to check that the charts are historically compatible because they may be a few pips out which will obviously make all the differance on short TF's.

I trade Forex with CS mainly and find that my MT4 charts are usually within a couple of pips.

Vorbis ( or anyone )

Compare the two charts below.

Both are 5 min charts covering the same period of EURUSD spot, the bars at the bottom are tick volume.

The first chart is from Forex Street. The Foreign Exchange Market and the second is MT4.

Any differences between the two catch your eye ?

Just curious what you make of them, that's all.

Hmm...

There are obvious minor variations in price but it's difficult to say how significant they are because there is no scale visible. I don't normally look at a chart below the 1-Hr TF so I'm unfamiliar with these kind of charts, would the extra 'noise' make a differance?

As far as volume is concerned, as I understand it there is no recognised central exchange for Forex so any interpretation of volume data is going to be somewhat subjective/non-representational. Again though, I don't use volume data personally so I'm probably the least qualified person to comment.

Well they look very different to me or is that just the Aspergers talking that ( allegedly ) runs in half our family :cheesy:

The MT4 chart has a significantly less ATR and also has a lot more gaps in it which suggests to me that it's constructed from less data.

I don't know maybe it's because they use different feeds or something ?

It does for me although I can't quite put my finger on why that should be.

Yes, that's my understanding too.

Me neither,
the volume shown is tick volume which as far as I'm aware is just a way of recording and displaying price movement from the lower time frame(s)
