Anybody ever used optionmonster?

Nope, but love the advice Jon and Pete have on FastMoney CNBC 5pm est
same here
their prices are a bit hefty
but if you have the commitment and the capital, it's a possibility
they obviously know how to make good money
i've been thinking about it too

Hello, New to the forum and how I found it was because of this thread. I was interested in the services because of there free advice, but I did a little bit of research looking for someone that may have something similar and came across a site called optionsizzle. Looks to have the something similar but their paid membership is cheaper. Has anyone used or heard of this site? Do you guys trade options?

I received a 1 hour seminar two days ago conducted by the senior staff of OptionMonster. In short every piece of information a trader may look for is on the fingertips. Another thing is you have to know what to trade and that is the difference between earning and not. On that the trading station can not help (directly answering LuckyD1976). For stock trading and FX SaxoBank is agood choice.

Was it a free seminar? And when you mean every piece of information is at a traders fingertips meaning using there advice? What did they cover in the seminar?

I have used Optionmonster for a couple of years. There are tough spots and incredible runs. I think if you are going to make it you have to be very disciplined which means don't be greedy. I looked at the optionsizzle website and it looks like a ripoff of optionmonster.

Review of Option recommendation services, make money with options, CBOE, CME ISE, CBOT, Chicago has a comprehensive review on optionmonster and most of the popular option rec services like Schaeffer's.

There are times where the options the monsters blogged about doubled and tripled in price in one day.

You also have to get the cheapest commisions on options or if not, you are spinning your wheels. Even if you are getting a string of great trades.

The free info you get on Fast Money on options is mostly dated. The optionmonster subscribers are already on the train when you hear the "advice" on Fast Money. I think some of them are selling in the morning to those that are trying to get on board that watched the show the night before.

I went with Optionmonster because I am learning and the free education was highly recommended.

I'm a big fan of Jon and Pete on Fast Money too but hands down the best show on CNBC is the new show Options Action ... great tips, strategy advice and guests. For some reason it is on at 11:30 Friday night and repeated 6AM Sat & Sun. A good one to tivo.

Thank you for reminding me about the Options show on CNBC. I remember hearing about it a month ago and then last week I was going to DVR it, but fell asleep before I could activate it. I want to check it out, but I think you get back to getting ideas when it is too late to act on it and by Monday everyone has the same info.

I had a chance to check out the other option site another person mentioned and I wonder if it is a subscriber to optionmonster that is basically reposting the info. The site looks strikingly similar to optionmonster, names services offered the same, and gives a daily wrap up video review. I thought it was odd that you don't see this person's face. I think it is great that they do a 10 + minute video daily, but I have to wonder who is this person, what experience do they have, and how long have they been doing it?

One of the things that stands out at Optionmonster is that the users are always trying to interpret through Jon and Pete's writing which blog deserves a money commitment and which one is a pass. I used to do that myself. Anytime they said 90% of the options bought on the offer meant that it was a profitable trade almost all the time.

Can you actually post real info?

I find this post rather comical as it points to a website that, if you read it, clearly makes no sense. I was reading though the "Getting started" section and found out that there is no content past their 3rd page. The site was apparently made to bash optionsizzle. I was curious (I swear I am not a reporter-at least not since college) so I did some Google searches and found this: http://dockets.justia.com/docket/court-ilndce/case_no-1:2009cv02179/case_id-230351/ Apparently OptionsMonster is suing optionSizzle. So... the post is apparently an optionsizzle bash. Given the PRO OptionMonster slant of the post, I wonder who could have put it there??

I visited the site http://www.optionsstore.com and I don't get the impression that it was made to bash optionsizzle. The site gives reviews of different option services. It was pro on several different option rec services.

I went to finance yahoo and the guy from optionsizzle would spam message boards about stock option activity. What legitimate company does that? Completely bush league.

Do you really think that optionmonster had anything to do with optionsstore.com? That is comical. On a related note though, another options rec services site popped up and it is done by a website marketing company and just by chance who do you think they placed number one?

Oh yeah, the developer is an AdSense man with almost 200 parked domains. I think optionstore is the only one that has content on it. And considering Karl Moyer is a camera store owner... I don't see him writing such indepth reviews as is on the site. So I don't think he is the mastermind. (Karl, sorry if I am totally wrong here :) )

The thing that threw me was the line, "I almost thought I had typed optionmonster.com by mistake in my browser." You would have to be a complete fool to think the sites look anything alike. And that is specifically what OptionMonster is suing OptionSizzle for. It is more of a bulling tactic than a law suit.

I have come to know Josh Belanger of OptionSizzle and he is a straight shooter who knows his stuff. I seriously doubt that he has "stolen" content like the articles suggests. He also has some credentials being published in the New York Post and Bloomberg.

Karl, if you are reading this, maybe you should revisit his service?

Hello,
Are you searching for "Optionsmonster" and wondering if anyone have any comment on thier service then today is your lucky day, you should search for the service if you are paying a hafty amount of money for any service.
So here you got one person who used thier service for one years and paid them $5500/- and that was for the training purpose only, their life time membership cost is $10K+. Now is that worth it, I am not sure... The information they provide is all available on the internet , they have good instructors but they don't allow you to trade options unless you are graduate and they also guarantee that after graduation you make a trade and lost money then we will reimbuse you - Money Back Guarantee" .. you know how those guarentees goes. If Optionsmonster would have a service for new students where they can atleast reimburse thier money through trades for few months then I would have stayed with them and could have continue the service.
I think the problem with Optionsmonster is they are just interested in your money and wanted you sign up. Your money is gone and they have levels 1 ~ 8 which are great and you can watch archieved sessions and attend live sessions but since you are not allowed to trade, how you will get you money back while you are student and they will not graduate you easily ... ( which I think good idea if you are not ready). They are not interested you or your goals. There is no counseller type of thing or servey so you can express your frustration. Since my subscription expires no one called me or even try to find out why I did not renew my subscription or why I am not successful... they don't care, they want your money.
In conclussion, I would say you can search and find out all the information which they are providing you for hefty $$$ is available on the internet for free. The key is you paper trade to the point when you are 100% confident that you got the stratigy down. Do not play with you real money at all. Stock market is not a place to play around otherwise big sharks will eat you alive. If you are so excited about trading watch all the Youtube videos available on trading first. Paper trade for atleast six months or year before you put any panny into the stock market.

New service / free book

Ad on cnbc today, first I have seen, offer for free (plus shipping) book. Don't know if it is new today, but I wouldn't be suprised. Called immediately.

10 bucks seems a little high for shipping and handling at book rates, but hey their kids need profitable jobs too.

Marvelous tech in their system, their voice recognition was better than my dialing. They did record my email address though, rather than try to decode it. They pulled my name and address from the card number + caller I'd. Cs

Then came the up selling. A $30 dollar a month newsletter. Free at first, forever unless they let you cancel. An expensive course, a cheaper teaser, and then another free DVD for $10 shipping.Lastly, $15 for shipping in 2-5 days instead of 2-4 weeks. I didn't buy any of those.

Then they said the customer service number & email (with an option to repeat). I wonder if they ever will tell you again how to cancel that newsletter, if you forget to write those down. CS was optionmonster - and how I found this site.

They haven't sent the confirmation yet, probably a human decode.

I hope the book is what I expect. Remember that options trading is a zero sum game (before commissions), and info on what new fish might believe could be worth something.

One of my brokerage accounts is Trademonster (same as Optionmonster) and they are second rate for sure.
Yes the platform is mediocre and is better than most out there but their pricing and comms are a killer. There is only one real broker platform for trading options that any real options trader would use. and it is not Optionmonster or Trademonster... but why on earth are people looking for such services and listening to media muppets?
