Hey

Is carry trading a popular option with people who trade currencies?

The other thing i was going to ask is does day trading generally make more money than other less active forms of investment such as buy and hold shares, say buying penny stocks and selling within about year time period trying to make large gains. Like the trades at

Thanks

Some forex traders do you methods that are based on carry trading. If you search around I'm sure you can find some discussions on the topic.

As to the most profitable timeframe, there's no clean answer. It's whatever timeframe you work best in. Some people are well suited for day trading. Others do better longer term. Need to find your sweet spot, so to speak.

day trading can be like a sport, its competive and stressful and a full time job, nothing glorious about it its not investing

I'm not a day trader, but I do believe that it's generally considered (very) unwise to hold penny stocks for long periods of time. From the casual reading i've done on this board, it sounds as if most of those who trade in the pennies rarely have a position lasting even a full day let alone an entire year.
