What type of trading is this?

What i want to know is, is what he is doing the same thing as what people do on this forum just he is trading Government bonds as opposed to currency?

You're right on the trading bonds part.

As to whether he's doing what most people on this board are doing, that's mostly a no. Sounds like most of these guys are institutional traders. The magazine caters to that type. They don't trade the same way individuals do. It's a different mentality when you're trading other people's money, and obviously they are in much bigger positions.

Looks to me like he's just punting the bobl over figure in good size?
Good luck to him imho but can't help feeling that one day he'll come a cropper.

Is it just a different mentality (and trading other peoples money) or is it a totally different way that instituational and private traders trade?

He's supposedly come a cropper already, with a massive down account to prove it. Don't believe everything you read. There's nothing impressive about making 1 million in an afternoon and losing it the next day. Making 1 million and keeping it, however, now that would be impressive!

It amazes me how the press focus on the upside of traders and just turn a blind eye to the downside. The traders who can make 10 grand a day every day, now they're the real stars, but you'll never see their names in the papers!

Word!
LIFFE floor, early 90's, I reckon there was a 15% bust-out rate.

Well ive heard he is still at Marex and still make serious money on big size.

find it amusing how everyone seems to want to shoot a man down when hes doing well. I take my hat off to the guy hes got big size to use and hes using it. If his trading style is akin to punting on fundamentals then so be it. But as far as ive been told hes still going strong so he obviously has a good perception of how markets will move and has the balls to act on his it will 1000 lots. all credit to the guy

Just like to enquire how Marex Financial works - I do understand its a proprietary trading house but do they pay a salary if you work for them? or is it profit sharing (commission based)?

I've had rather little luck finding a junior trading role, if any one has any recommendations please drop me a message.
