Hi, I'm relatively new to day trading (couple months) with somewhat ok'ish returns (~10% over my initial investment so far) and I have been unsuccessfully trying to find a software or platform that fits my needs. I would like a desktop app that allows me to display various stocks all at once in real-time, including a graph, volume, low/high, as well as AH and Premarket data. Let's say I have a list of symbols and I want to pick 10-20 to display all together updating at once. I don't need it to be a trading platform as I already have a broker I like for that, I just need the software to conveniently display all this data. Any suggestions?

I'm a developer so a free or affordable API with the data would also be acceptable to make my own app.

(forgive my terrible paint skills :D)

check interactive brokers, the have a pretty good API

MT4 platform will give you multiple windows as you have shown. So any broker offering MT4,

Otherwise for straight (and free) charting software try investing.com (get the UK version) or ProRealTime (real time is not free)

Thanks for the answers, so far:
  1. IB API: pending to check
  2. "Your brokers desktop software should do this": they don't have one, only web/mobile (DEGIRO Europe)
  3. tradingview.com: checked this site out, can't see an app. on the site itself I can't see how to add several graphs at once, only a mention on the Pro sub: "charts per layout" with max 8 for $60/m ?
  4. freestockcharts.com: nice (only works in IE heh), this is more like what I wanted, but there doesn't seem to be AH/Premarket data, and the lowest update tick seems to be "1 minute". do they show real-time or 15m delay?
  5. esignal.com: $152/m
  6. prorealtime.com: nice (despite java) but $66/m. not sure about AH/Premarket
  7. investing.com: max 8 graphs, 1 minute updates, no AH/Premarket
  8. MT4/MT5: 4 graphs, only forex?

MT4 will be the best for what you want. It will cover everything - forex, indices, shares, futures- but is associated separately with each broker who uses it and is therefore dependent on what instruments those brokers want to cater for. You need to find the right broker.

Thanks, I'll check them out. As for brokers I'm a bit limited in Europe, I'm currently using DEGIRO which has decent rates (0,50 euro + $0,004 per share per order for US stocks, 0.1% currency exchange or 10 euro + 0,02%, 5e/m for real-time NASDAQ, no min. deposit, no withdrawal fees, no maintenance/keep fees), unfortunately they lack a desktop app and their graphs in the website are laughable at best; their mobile app is very lacking as well.

oh btw.. heh, silverlight sucks too

@Shira - as Trading Spaces mentioned, Medved Trader software can do what you need:
https://medvedtrader.com

MT supports various datafeeds including many brokers and subscription feeds. List available here:
http://medvedtrader.com/sources (note the 3 different tabs across the top)
There are also a handful that are not on that list yet (I haven't had a chance to update the site). These are available in the beta version of MT:
FOREX.COM
GDAX (Crypto Currencies)
POLONIEX (Crypto Currencies)
BITFINEX (Crypto Currencies)

Though writing your own is possible, it would be far easier to use ours. MT has tons of technical indicators and very configurable. and great support if I say so myself :)
