Hi All

Is it just me or is it sods law that when everything looks good to make a trade the market struggles to get even 10 points in your direction but rockets to 40 points in the opposite direction. Maybe a new strategy should be to reverse what you plan to do

80-20 Rule (or Pareto Analysis) - Markets trend about 20% of the time and spend the other 80% grinding through trading ranges, pullbacks and other counter trend action that tests boundaries. Price rate of change rises in trends, attracting the trend trader and falls in trading ranges, attracting the swing trader.

most ranging markets behave like as in your post

I think in this 80% of time markets accumulates trades before critical mass drives it to new levels. If you have access to the volume data (but I think big institutions hide or split their volumes somehow) you can successfully determine when the market gets ready to make a big move.

In this case, anyway human needs a lawyer. It doesn't matter if a person is well versed in the laws or not.
I thought that with this content-deficient word salad, Coles Law would be more appropriate.
