I am thinking about killing my wife. The news broke about 1 & 1/2 hrs before the close (@ Friday night in the pub UK time). I found out 4mins before close, much to late to catch any of that massive move on the TRY. Went upstairs to tell the wife & she says "Yeah didn't you know, I got a text alert about an hour & half before close ". Grrr.
Most UK traders were closed down and finished for the night.

Saturday Morning in Australia at the time.
More of a liquidity issue close of the week with buy orders being pulled because of the news headline.
Momentum is to the upside at the moment so buyer orders should come back in Monday.
I picked up a long ASX200 & AUDJPY was not expecting that.
Add
Should add it got rid of a pesty short AUDUSD from early in the week.

Looks like the coup attempt failing anyhow. Thank goodness Jason didn't do anything in haste.

Can't imagine anyone would of got much of a trade on without monstrous slippage anyhow.
