I am thinking that the british will have the upper hand , assuming that a brits natural reservation (inbred) will outweigh the benefits of any yanks gunghoism.

How do i attached a poll to this thread...?

what does everybody else think?

Its the same with the forces? we are more professional yes? the best in the world so doesnt it carry weight in the trading profession? Are british traders in more demand for massive corparates to head trading and the such?

I think British yes they do analyse everything very careful while Americans they do that but at the same time they are more go getter. In other world they ready to take more risk as long as the there is huge return. So i do not think British have upper hand. May be it is even.

well the yanks are certainly better at self promoting, the so called legends are all from the US im pretty sure we have some talent

There's no competition - the British of course are miles ahead, especially ahead of those in Arizona !

us Brits are better.

You have to consider the number of trading successes as a proportion of total traders, not absolute numbers, otherwise the yanks are perceived to be better, simply as there are more of them.

The US has a culture of risk, as bankrupt business-men are allowed to re-try over and over. Over here, if you fail in your first business, you run the risk of being barred from holding any directorships, etc.

Americans are more likely to brag, as andycan has pointed out.

The UK has been trading much longer than the US.
Typically for americans, they came late to the party, with bigger computers, and take all the credit, and re-write history by thinking the first trade ever happened when they bought manhattan for a bunch of beads.

I could be torn here.

Based in the UK, but trade purely U.S. Stocks !

I think I'll go with us analytical Brits.

Brits positively loathe achievement and are always trying to drag those that dare to break the mould back down to comfortable mediocrity, ideally accompanied by a juicy story in the tabloids and several buckets of schadenfreude; whereas our brasher cousins have their Dream and promote its universal flourishing. However independent a citizen may feel of these stereotypical national characteristics the latter atmosphere is perhaps more conducive to success at trading.

Kentucky,

The ENGLISH are all Gentleman, you Yanks in the colony are all common.

First Englishmen to come to mind: Winstone Churchill, Oliver Cromwell, Bertrand Russell, Marshall Zhukov (sorry, he's Russian).

First Americans: Ru Paul, J Edgar Hoover, Liberace (connection?).

I rest my case.

Grant.

Seems the poll ended a bit abruptly, ...

More than the national geographics, I would have to go with who makes the most Jack !

Not sure this forum can determine where the cash is flowing...
