European Financial Transaction Tax

I know very little about this.

Is this something that would apply to retail traders trading CFD's? In other words, would retail traders need to pay a levy every time they executed a trade?

I thought I ask here, in case somebody has already done some work on it and is willing to share their findings.

It is just the sort of daft move, probably driven by envy, that the political clots give the industry away to the competition in the US and Asia.

I only hope it doesn't catch spreadbetting in the net.
