My wife wants us to go away this weekend when schools break up. We want europe beach type all in with activities for kids. Prices seem to be going up at the moment,any good sites or companies that you guys know. We generally look at on the beach type of site. Any help wanted as the hols we were looking at two weeks ago have gone up by about 50%. It was my clever idea to hold on:smart:

Kayak are good when searching for flights, bit like Compare the Market etc. Think they do package stuff as well but I've only used them for flights only.

Puglia region of Italy

I would recommend the Puglia region of Italy - Brindisi is a good spot for beach resorts with cheap flights direct to Brindisi.

The food is good and the area is still largely Italian tourists. There is also a good rail service along the sea allowing you to go between Bari, Brindisi, Lecce, Monopoli etc for alternative days out or for a dual centre holiday.

There are plenty of holiday companies doing the region or you can book easyjet or BA and trains on trenitalia.com

I went to Brindisi a few years ago, and found Metaponto ( club med) the most desolate part of Europe imaginable. Maybe it's changed a lot since then?

I'm a huge fan of Mallorca....avoid the obvious ( Magaluff & Arenal)

All great ideas,so far weve managed a two day trip to longleat,why go on safari when your kids can see more in one day than they can in 6 months on safari.

Spent last 2 holidays in Nice. Good beaches, interesting city, beautiful coast, great base for excursions (Monaco, Cannes, islands etc.). Suits any budget if you get a self-catering deal. Going again in September and in 2016.

Alive and well me old buddy. Ive made the odd contribution but stayed away as it became too important and I felt obligated to respond and keep the thread going. I did try and pm you but you wont allow it. Hows things with you BP?
