Ah, and I must add...and what is even more annoying is the persistent arguer who argues for the sake of arguing, without any basis in fact, but just opinion according to his frame of reference which is nearly always guaranteed to be the wrong one. Now, to a certain extent this may be excusable in a rank beginner, but totally unpardonable in someone who has been around for some time around this topic and still persists in cllinging to what is patently nonsense, to the annoyance of all and sundry and to the misdirection of the most vulnerable and those in need of real and constructive help because their yardstick is the wrong one on the one hand and because it is very easy for beginners to corrupt themselves until such time as they are able to acquire the correct yardstick for themselves on the other. We have a situation in which no one allows either themselves or the others a proper chance to work things out correctly.

Newbies, T2W members are not annoying! This is what annoys me. Image the situation.......vodka and ice (Mmmm.....nice)......relaxing, and reading the new posts and threads on T2W (perplexing.......sometimes). Then, and this really annoys me........realising you have no more ciggarettes! WHAT A BUMMER!

I rarely post on "public" forums, however - I have read a great deal of postings here on T2W and in the process I've accumulated a certain amount of knowledge. Some if it nonsense, some of it useful. However, a lot of Socrate's postings I have found useful - I can also understand precisely what he has said in his posting here. In fact, I'd say its about as clear as whether or not that glass you want a drink out of actually has enough of the liquid you want in it. Just take a look over the message, I'm sure you'll begin to understand it.

I remember seeing a documentary some time ago on people who had been blind since birth, and then gained vision. One of the things it followed, was their difficulty in establishing peoples genders based upon facial features. If I recall correctly, it took a lot of learning before they were able to reliably ascertain the gender of someone. But this is something that the majority are (generally!) able to do with a high percentage of success.

I have to agree, from a relative outsiders point of view: The most frustrating/annoying thing about these forums is seeing useful debates and discussions degenerate into worthless slanging matches.

Newbies don't bother me, I am one myself. People making more money than me don't bother me either, in fact they inspire me. If there are individuals out there capable of achieving success it encourages me to learn. If there are people who have made money elsewhere, what's stopping oneself from doing it? Often only what is in the mind of the individual.

There are some great members on here, whose posts are highly valuable - they're in a minority. But then, successful/truly helpful people are also in a minority in life in general - so why let that be annoying?

The thing is he means well, but you see Salty, as I have a lot of experience in having to deal with dunces, immediately I spot something out of line, I pounce on it, and this leads to interminable arguments, because in addition the gentleman is very stubborn and persists in replying to questions with questions and other diversonary tactics to avoid the unavoidable.
He does a great job in keeping the hoi palloi entertained, and in that respect, what he does is commendable.

Thank you Salty, your sentiment is much appreciated and reciprocated.

What happens is that people do not like the intellectual discomfort caused by statements that challenge their beliefs. They would rather cling to cosy beliefs rather than be exposed to axioms that upset them. But everything I tell them is fact, and absolutely true, and subject to the most fierce inquisition and it survives because is it the truth and not necessarily what it is they are willing to hear, or are indeed sufficiently open minded to accept.

(i'm sure soccy's got me in his ignore list... someone pls ask him to take it off and reply to me in this posts about annoyances....it really is quite annoying when you want to annoy someone and get them to reply to you and then they go off and don't reply - highly annoying and jolly inconsiderate if you ask me.....the reason I don't want to PM him is in case he replies in his usual incomprehensible way and then what if i don't understand? who'll translate for me? at least if its in the open, then I don't have that extra worry on my mind )
