Opinions of Tradestation?

I am interested in using Tradestation for trading options.

In particular I am interested in using the platform to backtest options trading strategies.

I am unaware of any other cost effective system that would allow to do backtesting on options. OptionVue will but that is out my price range.

I am then interested in starting an account with £5,000(approx $7600).

Would anyone here recommend Tradestation for my trading requirements? Or do you think it would end up too expensive?

Care to elaborate?

Tradestation is a good trading software like MT4 but I think, starting an account with £5,000 is not good idea. You should invest maximum $1000 at starting.

Sure.

But will that amount of starting capital qualify me for full use of the backtesting system?

What about if I make one trade a month or less?

And will Tradestation allow me to perform in-depth volatility analysis on implied and historical volatility?

Its tough enough already even for traders with more than adequate starting capital.

But you? Right at the starting gate you stack the odds so supremely against yourself.

Worse than going to a gunfight with not even a knife, just a stiff c*ck - goodluck with that if all market participants are women.

Talk it over with your wife and kids. When the man of the house is just about to leave them destitute Methinks its a good idea to let them know they're about to have a father without a rudder, middleleg and a swollen recalcitrant rectum.

Then hear what they have to say and pay attention.
