i went long on Petrofac in November last year, and once the spreadbet contract expired made £1500,

but i stupidly went long a few weeks ago as saw at least 100 points of recovery due, but due to Europe woes the markets tanked, wiping a cool £1000 off my previous PFC profit when i was stopped out

i normally trades shares in FTSE 250 companies on the medium-long term, but have noticed how quickly you can make money on the £10+ shares on the FTSE100

I was wondering does anyone trade the volatile shares like PFC on the ftse100 on the short term, and are successful?

what normally signals a buy time for you?

PFC seems to control the FTSE100 to some extent as the SP movement tends the mirror the FTSE

Or is this 'swing trading' on spreadbets best avoided unless you have years experience?

in a way it seems like a good way to make quick small gains, but could go the opposite way

im trying not to become emotional, but noticed how PFC have recovered 80 points today, which is a punch in the face, as IF ONLY my stop loss was 5 points lower id still be in and close to even
