Is this possible to do??? Read the blurb below - I was wondering if what they said is even possible. Thanks for any replies. Bear in mind that these accounts would be in a regular broker in the customer's own account.

I have noticed that this Manager is just fake one who use unethical method to charge customers. He has divided customers' accounts into two groups then he BUYS on one group and SELLS on the other group with very big lot size. In this way he make sure that half of the accounts will win and do not give any attention or care about other customers whom their accounts are blown. This is unethical way to charge people and let them lose in one stage or another. Avoid this scam at any cost ! I lost 12000 GBP

This is a very old, tried and tested system. It has been used since the begining of time on many different markets. For example horse tipping.

If you are a commission based adviser then having half your book long a market and the other half short is an extremely efficient way to run a revenue model.

It is also, as a result, extremely strongly monitored by the FSA.

I would be surprised if a UK based and regulated firm was still doing this in today's environment.

I'd be amazed if people still do this (well, maybe not amazed).

As others have said, this scam was probably around in pre-Roman times.
