I'm a little confused, and hoping someone can shed some light on this...
I was looking into Ford, and tried searching for them on yahoo finance to view their stock charts and other information. However, when I start to type Ford into the search box, it shows several different symbols for Ford, such as F, F.MX, F-PA, FORDP.PA, etc. What are all these different symbols for?? And if I look them up, each has a different value. If they all represent the same company (Ford) then how can they be different prices?
My first thought was that maybe they represent a company's presence in different countries (ie maybe F.MX = Ford Mexico?) but that doesn't make sense, because the money Ford makes in any country should all pool together... right? I mean if I own Ford stock that I bought in the USA and Ford expands into China and starts making a ton of sales there, I should be sharing in that profit, shouldn't I?
