The fact is that traders are sooo paranoid they are the biggest chickens ive ever seen in my life.

This is exaggerated but some of what I see.

US unemployment drops to lowest level since 2008.
NYSE down after uncertainty in europe as a factory lays off 1 employee.

The other thing about the markets that is so annoying is in pre market trading.

Stock closes at lets say $2.60 in early morning the Bid is like $2.49 and the Ask is $2.78

Getting closer to open the Ask people see that the Bid is still $2.49 they freak out and drop the ask price to $2.60..... Bid people move up to $2.52 ask figures thats a great deal and sells it to them at $2.52 stock opens down .08 cents and then climbs back up to $2.60.

I just dont understand why the ASK people always get so scared and lower their price even below the last closing price. Based on no news and markets being up the last couple of days.

first: US unemployment figures are knowingly fudged (seasonally adjusted etc - pls do some research).

second: stocks are still only what 10-15% down from all time highs, despite the whole world being pretty much bankrupt.

third: and i am not sure how this was related to your previous comment, maybe the seller @$2.52 paid $2.30 for it way back when. this could also be a spoof, to get ppl to join the offer & get lifted immediately. next time pls provide vol traded data nxt time you refer to these sorts of v well known price patterns.

forth: why, instead of moaning about it on a forum are you not capitalising on it? if "people always get so scared" / "LOL Traders are such CHICKENS!!" then it should be easy....no?

I guess your trolling though aren't you (rhetorical q).

He's too chicken

By the way...yes I am a chicken. When I'm in a position and it goes against me I chicken out and exit to avoid a large loss. Stupid me I guess, eh?

Peter

Not when a position starts to go the wrong way. Im talking about pre trading when the people who ask for a price always lower themselves down below par. Why can't they just hold at their asking price and bring the bids up? It seems like the bidders always hold their ground on bottom prices and the asking guys always just give in and go down to their level.

That is my biggest issue with that. Plus I know not all stocks do that it's just annoying to see the asking price always just start nice and then get scared and drop and drop down to the bidders level.

Ah right, its annoying cos your long. If you were short and it dropped to 2 52 you wldnt be annoyed.

I have no idea what your trading, but the ask price isn't starting off 'nice', its a 29c spread. You won't know what the true value is until it becomes more liquid, and guessing that the offers are gettting scared sounds a little like your looking for conviction in your prev trading decision - ask price is drifting down cos ppl are happy to sell there, get over it.

Eh I thought everyone averaged down with no SLs.

Oh im fine with where im at and where the stock is at. Unlike the guys who ask alot and then panic, I will not do such a thing. Learned that lesson once already

You were annoyed not too long ago, don't let your emotions take control.

Sorry BTW to anyone on here. I don't mean you guys directly. I was just frustrated abit with something that I see everyday. In reality if I never looked at the bid/ask prices I think that would suit me better.

Just feel like if this is a sporting event. The Bidders are a much better team then anyone on the ASK side. Feel like the Ask team can have abit of momentum but when a crack appears they crumble so easily. The Bid team is really solid haha

Hmm you haven't noticed what's been happening in the stock markets these past few days have you.

(And now your frustrated ha)

The important thing is to be live chickens, even if we lose some feathers.

Someone asked on another forum thread why price tends to fall faster than it rises and one answer was cos fear is a stronger emotion than greed (which prob does not explain what your seeing), which makes sense. Whether this is the reason or not I don't know. I am sure fib lovers out there might disagree - or at least argue its not the rate its the distance that's key, determined by its obvious close relationship to the fruit spouts of a pineapple.
