Due to comments made yesterday by the ex Malaysian PM the US has indeed confirmed that it is to default on its $7 trillion debt. In a press statement late last night a spokesman from the White House said:
"...It is with regret we confirm that we as a country have grossly overspent and its time we faced reality and admitted that we've over stretched ourselves. We henceforth are cancelling all debt payments for the forceable future and warn those foolish enough to keep buying our debt that it is no longer secured by anything other than the paper its printed on...."
