I am new to daytrading and currently trading the eur/usd during the london session on a 10 minute chart. If I were to get results of 5% per week consistently is there any sort of ceiling if you were to compound your account. If there is what amount of money would that be?

In the region of $1billion to $5billion, anything over would probably be too much. With that money you'd be dealing with the biggest desks on the planet, including the ones run by the central banks (they'll all want your flow).

At 5% a week, expect to get there in about 2-5 years depending on how much you start with. You'll also probably be the best FX trader to have ever lived. Not bad for someone who's new to trading :)

Wouldn't execution speed and slippage be an issue for day traders seeing that they would be using tighter stops? If it is not where would you find dealing desks that would even provide enough liquidity to trade 1000 lots+? Is it even possible to execute trades of that magnitude promptly without being partially filled all the time as timing is very essential for the system I am trading....

Hi,
This upcoming week could be quite volatile based on what comes out of Monday’s meeting in Europe. I expect 2012 to be an extremely interesting year. Most people do not realize that the world we grew up in is no more. They hold on to old paradigms when they no longer work.

I don't know what '1000 lots' is in FX but it doesn't sound that much. Listen, you're trading in the biggest cross on the planet so to buy/sell $500-$1billion isn't going to be a problem.

Can I suggest you get to that size before you start worrying about it.........
