Any one share your information hare about, Does the spot price of gold and silver affect the value of rare coins?

Depends on how rare as well. If properly rare then the price of Gold and Silver has no effect.

Agreed.

The rule is simple: If you want to own precious metals by owning coins then only buy bullion coins. Numismatics is for coin collectors.

Always remember as well that Silver is basically worth **** all.

Or to put it another way if you want to swap a one ounce Gold coin for Silver you'd need 50+ one ounce Silver coins. People tend to forget this fact (inlcuding me) and think that Silver is worth more.

There are people who think silver's more valuable than gold?

Good question, Sir and serendipitous too - do you see Gold falling off the Grand Canyon (shown as green line) and about to become part of the Petrified Forests (the black uptrendline) - that is of course only if she does fall off?

If so, the final confirmation from the most resistant entity to Deflation will have succumbed. Then the name of the game is .... sell everything of value esp. rare stuff, then find things that are not bolted solidly down to the earth and sell them too. Travel light but with suitcases full of 3-month treasury bonds and solid hard cash aka USD or Yen or both.
