what moving average should i use for volume on DJIA?

HI, can anyone tell me what size moving average to use if i am looking at end of day volume for the DJIA. I want to know if the volume is above or below the yearly average. Is the yearly average the best timeframe to use or should i set it for monthly or quarterly...or something else lol. Thanks in advance for considering my question.

Work out how many session in a year, then use that as the average. For weekly charts use 52, for monthly use 12 etc etc.

As for what is "best" to use, that is a very general question. Without know more details of what you are trying to achieve it is impossible to answer.
