Hello traders,

My last post on T2W was 2008, just before I went full time. I'm still full time! Feel totally settled with it and have advanced no end since then. After posting to bulletin boards I decided to post to my own site from the beginning of this year, get all my stuff in one place.

Home

Just sharing my approach - no ads, affilations etc. My speciality is the global macro level: stock indices, commodities - and the medium term. If you haven't visited, come say hello.

John

Hey Egg,
It's tradingcube formally of the MCX board...
How you doing, hope your trading is going well. You may have noticed everyone disappeared from the MCX broad about 6 months back... don't really post anywhere myself these days but noticed your thread whist skimming over the boards here. Check you site every few months, see what your thoughts are.
I'm still trading, not full time but make steady progress and the system seems to be holding up well over the past few years.
Take care,
TC

Hi TC! Good to hear from you. Yes, Rich informed me of his site and I saw some of the key people moved over from MCX. Trading's going well thanks, and I've not really looked back since lauching the site. Glad to hear you're making good progress - drop me a note at my site when you go full time!

All the best, John

Hey,

Had a quick browse of your site.. wow very interesting.
Would you be able to give me a brief outline of what it is you do?:)

Hi Dan, I trade the major global stock indices and commodities, and a little in major currency pairs and bonds. I trade the medium term, using long term anchors and looking to the short term for clues. "Amalgamator" refers to my drawing together mutliple disciplines: cycles, technicals, seasonality, solar/lunar, fundamentals etc.

Is this what you mean?

Yes it is, thankyou.

I suppose I was most curious at the solar/lunar thing. The timeline and synchronization pages. The fact your predicting recessions decades away and taking things such as human population, supernovas, asteroid collisons and other natural disasters into account.

All very interesting but does it work or rather is such a level of research neccessary?

Would you care to elaborate on your timeline page?

Sure. The black swans are low probability but high impact, so I consider it's important to keep the in the picture. Of the trend based phenomena, those that don't hit crunch point for some time, then good to disregard in the current trading picture. But clearly, that the majority are on unsustainable trends, so it's important to forecast when the crunch point is likely to be. Of the cyclical phenomena, predicting a recession or secular cycle over a decade a away, for example, doesn't affect the current trading picture either. That's more about the underlying phenomenon, and the relevance for trading would be where that phenomenon is at for the next couple of years. Lastly, I'm interested in this kind of stuff, and not everyone visiting my site is a trader, so there is an element of going beyond what's necessary, as you put it.
