Gold Dealers

Be very, very careful, you could very easily be completely stitched up. This business is full of crooks.

Thanks - that's the problem I wish to avoid. Last bought KGs many years ago and I collected in person. I see now most dealers don't allow this - obvious scope for scam, hence my hope for a rec from a reputable and long term contributor on here rather than some scammer's posting-lacky.

Cant they be bought through a high street bank? I know theyre not exactly famed for their honesty but they've got to be the best of a bad bunch.

I've used Ukbullion.co.uk in the past for Gold bars.

Now I mostly use Bullionvault to buy/store/trade. So much easier and it keeps costs extremely low.

harrods sells their own brand of bars (I think they have 1oz coins too). it is very close to spot (ie cheaper than kruggerrands) and they promise to buy it back at very close price too... try them out.

I bought 1oz Britannia’s from them and got great service. I also bought myself a very accurate scale and checked their purity using the specific gravity test. If you live in the UK I would only buy U.K legal tender bullion coins like sovereigns and Britannia’s because at the time of writing this they are free of capital gains tax.
