I'm interested in currency trading. and I would like to ask you a question.
say if your forex account is in british pound and you want to trade in the currency pair GBP/USD, can you buy GBP and sell USD, instead of selling GBP and buying USD.
Or do you need a forex account in US dollar if you want to do this?

Thanks.

the account currency doesn't affect your trading.

just the calculations of P&L (it's still the same in absolute cash)

meaning you can open an account in whichever currency you'd like and still can buy GBP/USD or sell it.

obviously though - you don't know enough.
start learning, or you'll blow your account sooner rather than later.

Your account's currency is irrelevant .

If you go long GBP/USD = you bought GBP and sold USD .

If you go short GBP/USD = you sold GBP and bought USD .
