Hi guys, I'm upgrading my computer in the next week or so and I'm contemplating getting a apple iMac does anyone else here use one or know of any issues that I might get with certain programmes or software etc that wouldnt really be an issue with a windows system? Last thing I'd want is to buy one dnd realise in a few weeks that I can't add an extra monitor or can't get certain charting software to work etc
Any feedback would be great.

pretty much anything useful

apple products do one thing and they do it exceptionally, if you ask them to do something else they get upset. don't get me wrong i really like my ipod touch but i would never ever buy an apple for a home computer

I use windows 7 home premium, had it almost two years now and its never crashed on me, surprisingly.

Sooner or later you'll want to run some software that's incompatible or doesn't work at its optimum on a Mac. QED

Your operating system is about the least important thing on a trading computer. Internet connection is the most important (of course I'm assuming you have a fairly recent network card), a good monitor is the second most important (dual monitors are great) and last make sure it has enough Ram.

iMac 21.5 or 27 Inch - Buy a New iMac Direct - Apple Store (UK)

Anybody know of any good charting software to use preferably free or fairly cheap as i'm fairly new to trading and just learning to get my head around it all.
many thanks.

Strongly disagree with that, I am having serious trouble running ninja on my PC, I've contacted ninja and they say it might be the OS. Perhaps an upgrade might be in order.:smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart:

PS currently running Windows 3.11, do you think windows 95 might be any better?

I would recommend you try OS/2

I asked about that but IBM OS/2 is incompatible with my PC. I have an old MCA bus IBM but I can't get a wireless network card for it.
