Need help/advice

Firstly i know nothing about shares but my dad bought 5000 shares in Emerald energy in about the year 2000..well he got parkinsons disease not long after and he forgot he had these shares and others..

Now my question is are these shares worth anything? if so how do we sell them.

Plz bear in mind i have no knowledge of dealing with stocks & shares

Do you live in Canada? If so there appears to be a company with the symbol EBY for Emerald Bay Energy on the Canadian exchange worth about $0.04/share. Your take is $200..... You have to prove somehow that you have these shares and open an acct and deposit them in your broker acct and then sell them. Probably cost you about $7-10 to sell them for commision so you walk away with ~$190.

If he has 5000 shares at £7.50 = £37.500 sold is that how it works or am i dreaming lol..

ye 5000 shares @7.50 is 37000 as the price they agreed but couldnt tell you if because its 2 years later if anything has changed ,better off just ringing in the morning as you said
