What Demo account?

Hello,

First post - I am very (VERY) much a beginner in trading - haven't even made a trade yet! I am currently reading a book on the subject and have a DVD that a friend has learnt me that goes over trading etc. Anyway, once I feel I have the grasp of the subject and methods I would love to pile some of the knowledge on a DEMO account - I see a lot of posts on this forum where people say that they use a DEMo account first...............but no names of which accounts??

I am based in the UK so looking at the FTSE shares for DEMO'ing - does anyone recommend any?

Only place I know you can demo UK equities is IG Markets.

These offer you a Metatrader 4 demo platform which is very popular. Or with Alpari you can also use the Metatrader 5 platform. Alpari is good but I don't think it offers all FTSE100 shares just the main ones. There are plenty more demo accounts available out there. Pretty much all brokers will provide them... FXCM, IG Markets, City Index, PFG Best etc etc....
