Hi,

What are the important aspects when deciding to choose a mentor to work with in forex?

There's a friend of mine Three's is his name on Paltalk, he's very testing in his manner at times. I sit in his room at times with his students as more of a friend than anything. But he will teach you to make money. If your interested let me know. And no he doesn't charge.

Hi lodian,

Does he have a track record can you send me any further details on his website or anything?

The Hare:-

Why shouldn't a mentor of forex trading charge for his services? They are entitled to giving away there valuable time. The free ones is what wastes your time and not worth it imo. There nothing free in this world and forex.

I'll be your mentor for £100 per annum. Send me through paypal. PM me for details.

PS Look I'm a legendary member

you should try and get a free mentor because if you are paying someone there is the sunk cost that makes you think that they are right.

Yeh he has a track record he drinks like a horse, and he is an ass at times and goes on and on, but his method is trade with your eyes not with your mind. What's happening is happening don't over complicate things. He trades both Futures  and FX (n)

No website because he doesn't do it for commercial reasons. If you want you can add me on skype, lodian9

Lodian,

May I ask what it is you are selling. You have a vendors badge but you said on another thread you don't charge for training. Now it seems it's your friend that does the training. It's starting to sound a bit complicated.

Hi,

I would want a personal recommendation. What's interesting is that in all my time hanging round these boards, chokka with successful traders and trainers (!), I've only once seen a trusted contributor actually recommend someone's paid service.

Sorry I should really remove that badge, I added that because I have recently been promoting Mr.Topstep a messaging service from the CME( I tried to keep that as less advertising as possible)

I have not done any work for them for a few months now. But I may do in the future. Reference to training I post my results in the journal "Easy Money" I made some youtube vids as well.

I don't charge anything for training and I don't really train that much only if someone asks.

The friend in question is just someone I know who takes on people who need helps. He to the best of my knowledge has never charged a cent. If the OP was asking for training in futures I would of offered to do it but he mentioned FX hence the recommendation

I make ample from trading , my only aim in the training sense is it makes no sense to me for people to keep making the same mistakes there is no need.

I hope that explains.

To assume that everyone is a con-man is just as unrealistic in my opinion as assuming that everyone is honest.

I think it is best to keep an open mind, while keeping your wits about you, of course.

And I think each individual trainer or mentor has their own reasons for charging, or for not charging. I don't think you can generalise, although people like to do so.

Mike I've missed you buddy, but you've got to stop sounding so goddam reasonable (and right) all the time..;)

Alan Rich? Wasn't he lauded at one stage as one of the good guys?

He was flogging a system called 'colour charts' which was basically heiken ashi candles with a MA that changed colour depending on if it was going up for down. I pretty much recreated it in easylanguage for free in about half an hour He was charging several hundred for it and pushing it at free tradestation seminars.

People like to say that one should not judge a book by it's cover. Very true, but think over your life and ask yourself honestly how often it would have been wrong to do so.

How many of these vendors that have been subjected to scrutiny on t2w have turned out to be above board? Has there even been one?

Yes some could be honest but why are none of them prepared to prove it? Given the amount of scams it's not an unreasonable thing to ask.

Why shouldn't a mentor of forex trading charge for his services?.

Why would anyone who trades need to charge a few hundred bucks to someone for their time ?

I've certainly mentored a few people free of charge (in some cases its actually cost me money to do so). If you can aford to help people who deserve to be helped, why not do it ?

Mentors choose the students that they want to work with, students do not choose mentors. If they want to choose, then they generally end up paying the sort of scroat who pimps their services on forums such as T2W, and they get exactly what they deserve.

That MA could be the notsosupertrend, repaints itself more than Katie Price...

I just (probably stupidly) spammed my last months statement here:

I suppose it doesnt quite prove you wrong as I am not a vendor... well not yet :cheesy:
