Trading like snakes and ladders?

Has anyone noticed that the kids game snakes and ladders has a huge resemblance to trading?

think about it the roll of a dice the ups and downs the probabilities of getting a snake or a ladder. Maybe trading is just a grown ups version of snakes and ladders?

But wait a minute, isn't there always a big, long snake at 97 or 98 which takes you back to 1? Doesn't this imply complete wipe out?
