Jim Corr (of The Corrs) I told you so, engineered banking collpase !

I bet all the people feel pleased they Re-Voted and got shafted with voting yes to europe last year or so ?

How to hoodwink the common people !

Run on Irish Banks Alert

(maybe thats why the government have stepped in already to own the bank with fear of bank runs capitulating the situation ? )

Forbes reports Allied Irish says it's lost 17 percent of deposits

Allied Irish Banks announced Friday it has lost a staggering euro13 billion ($18 billion), or 17 percent, of its total deposit base since June in the latest evidence of cash flight from Ireland's debt-crippled banking sector.

Earlier this month two other banks, Bank of Ireland and Irish Life & Permament, reported suffering losses of more than 10 percent of deposits in recent months.

The cash flight from Irish banks has accelerated since September, when the government raised its estimated bill for bailing out five banks to at least euro45 billion ($62 billion), a figure that many analysts said was still too low.

Officials at Allied Irish said the bank had euro74 billion in customer deposits at the end of June but just euro61 billion today.

Allied Irish was once Ireland's largest business, but it has suffered a spectacular fall since 2008 in line with the collapse of a construction-dependent economy.

Whatever happens should be some good trading hopefully .......... But Ireland is UK's brother, so I hear their call ... Good luck Ireland !

Might be a good idea to hold short Euro over the weekend for if riots take hold ? , ive not got any euro shorts but, if I did have then maybe Jim can muster some pulling power , and anything could happen while the Yanks fill with turkey too , will the euro get more battering ?

Anyway, it's a little story out there...

So many of these celebs have got fooked during credit crunch 1.0, now that 2.0 is on its way they're getting very scared, probably why the likes of Take (fookin) That re-formed..A lot of 'em were given 5hit advice; AIG, properdee, properdee, properdee...

Case in point; the Freddie Flintoff type *investment*;

Buy house off Mark Hughes for 1.5 ml, knock it down, replace it with another (that only a tasteless sports celeb would like) at a cost of 3.5ml, then ask for 5mil, then reduce it to 2.6, bearing in mind even at 2.6 it would make it the most expensive (by 40%) to have ever sold in the area...

And in this market..?? Ha..unlucky eh? greedy tw@ts...:)

Frank Skinner lost the lot on AIG shares I heard.

Yeah, although I have heard jim a few times, and I guess he's got enough of what he needs, that he never need work again etc, so I think he is genuinely p!ssed that his common countrymen are being right economically gang raped .

I mean he's had the luxury of time to sit back for a few years and get into the banking racket and truth movement with no pressure to work,I think he does worry that Ireland are now run by a foreign power, much like Britain is, and he fears a Euro famine over there .

And I think he is also p!ssed to hear his government say things like, "we are waiting for Brussels to tell us what to do with our finances "

If the Irish do find their passion, I hope they contain to a peaceful protest, but no telling what will happen mobs get together. Wait n see job I guess.

Nope, can't agree with that. 'Tis all about when and what they invested in...if property values fall back to 2001 levels a lot of the asset wealth the newly rich (last ten years) have built up will evaporate. Reason banks not lending any mortgage money atm? no new Q.E. and the banks needs as much reserves as poss for debts due in 2011. Credit Crunch 2.0 is going to be hell IMHO...

Yeah see your point BS. And I've no idea how much or what they amassed or invested, but he has put in a lot of effort to get involved on the web , radio shows since before 2008 I think.

I get the impression he would be happy doing gigs in Ireland in small venues even if his/ the corrs investments get hammered.

Who knows maybe they will reform and do a few numbers on the Economic Meltdown and I spose he always has his sisters to er, console him ! :)

Yes, feeling a bit underwhelmed. I always felt that "Talk on Corners" would be the highpoint of their career, and so it proved.

Says alot about the world we live in, this does - I mean, here we have a guy who sang backing vocals in a pop group full of his (pretty hot) sisters telling the world how Ireland should operate it's monetary policy.

Now I don't know if he has any experience in this field, but judging from the fact that he spent a good chunk of his life doing "oooooh's" and "aaaaah's" while his sisters exploited their good looks for a career in pop music, and he has to read a prepared script every sentence, I doubt it.

Thats the problem with the internet - everyone's a f*****g expert.

He's just a concerned Irish man. I had a quick look at his website, I didn't see any reference to his music career. I have no problem with it, I wish more English people would stand up for England.

I too had a look at his website - including the references to 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying he isn't entitled to speak his mind, rather that it probably has little credence.

Saying all that,... he's not far off with his prognosis !
Doesn't take an "expert" to discern the world around you,..now does it ?
Or maybe we should all shut off our brains/senses, in order for the elected/authorized "experts" to "IN-FORM" us all ?

BTW: "Conspiracy Theory", is a slogan put out there, in order for the masses(non thinking, the dead, profane, sheep) to regurgitate, when discerning individuals refute the "official" version of reality,.. I'm always amazed how successful these psychological tactics work,... (walking away shaking head),... ; )
