....recommend a good book which gives a clear explanation and guide to constructing financial analysis ratios, eg Sharpe, Sortino etc.

Babypips is a great resource, but is unfortunately a little 'thin' on analysis ratios etc.
Investopedia is excellent, but a bit snack-sized in relation to information collection.
I was really looking for a walk-through manual, with extensive detail, for all of the analysis tools which fundies use. For instance, a FOF would obviously require a pretty comprehensive criteria evaluation schedule.

I see what you are saying. Maybe it's time to look into a specific trading system with very exact rules on how to trade the market instead of looking at general analysis tools?! IF that is what you want when you say "construct financial analysis ratios etc."

I already have three profitable(for me) methodologies, based around different TF's, which I trade with.
I'm now looking to take my analysis of them on to a higher level, and up to current industry 'standards', hence my interest in Sharpe and Sortino etc.
