Weekend Trading

Hope this is not a silly question, but it is said the forex trades 24/7, and yet there are no brokers that trade weekends, does anyone know if the forex actually does trade 24/7 and if so why do the brokers not open up.
Can anyone enlighten me on this.

It's 24hrs but not seven days a week, well i suppose the end of friday will be the beginning of saturday depending on the timezone.. and sunday night is going to be monday morning somewhere.. so there is overlap.. but really it is 5 days a week if that makes sense but globally there will be market stuff going on later than 5pm on a Friday and earlier than 8am on a monday. Help at all?
