No way you can be pro on 15000.

If you could make 2000 per week with that capital you would be one of the worlds best traders.

Please be realistic and good luck bro....

Remember this.....Only the educated are free......

But what, GASP, happens if the mkt goes up now?

Sorry dude, bit confused... If its so easy then why are you only trading with $15,000 ? Why not trade with the $1,000,000 you must have made so far from it being so easy?

And another thing that i don't get, if futures is a zero-sum game then it can't be easy for everyone, for every player there is a loser, so if you make $2000 per week, collectively losses of $2000 must occur.

Another thing, why are you using free-charting if you are making $2000 per week... Get some proper charts.

The ASX 200 is going through a bull run right now, hence his numbers. I've been watching the numbers, and yes, you can probably do 2k on 15k. Except these numbers probably aren't sustainable once things calm down.

i love how traders say "hey i m great" and show a trade on a bull run anyone could have caught (y) bravo

Hmmm, well first it is clearly possible to make that kind of bread on one trade using a 15k account.
Only a fool with very little experience or a trader who doesnt know what he is doing would say otherwise.
Funny how he thought that he could teach someone though as there was no basis proferred for his methodolgy.
Regarding making money in a bull market - well that is what you are supposed to do!
What did you do? Sit on the sidelines until it calmed down and there wasnt enough volatility to make a reasonable trade? Now there is a smart move.
On the same point, its futures for goodness sake. Movements in either direction are what you are looking for. To the bull mkt buyer - stick to equities mate where it will take you a year to make what I do in less than a month.
If you think its not possible take a look here: http://www.tradeonauto.com/blog

daily trades and broker statement published. We have our baby tightened down to minimal movement and still have over 35% in three weeks. On 15k thats, hmm 5k anyone? Dont tell me that you cant live on that?
Sheesh.

Studog is correct, $2K from $15K is nothing notable in futures. However, instead of doubting what this guy said, why not take him up on the offer? Then one would know for sure. Of course we haven't heard anything from him since and it is possible he blew his account or he could've seen the response and just bailed but it doesn't look like we'll ever know.

I know this is a dead thread from a dead op.

Just thought I would take the opportunity to ask what the vertical line indicator is supose to be used for (on the op's second post - chart) it is just something I have never really understood.

Thanks
Jason

goose 4,

2000 a week is on the back of 15,000 is not unreasonable. And I doubt he would be one of the worlds best traders if he achieved that.

GladiatorX,

Futures is not a zero-sum game.

EDIT ooops didnt see that this thread was started ages ago and I was responding to year old comments.

Futures is not a zero-sum game.
Hi Pento,
As most of the original contributors to the thread are no longer around, I'll pick up the baton. When people refer to futures being a zero-sum game, they are usually referring to the fact that for every buyer there is a seller, so if one party profits, the counter party loses. In this respect, futures is a zero-sum game. Of course, in the longer term, the trader who profits in the example trade could be a net loser and the the counter party who loses could be a net winner. Perhaps this is what you meant?
Tim.

Hi tim

What I meant was that futures trading is not a zero-sum game. The futures market is made up of traders, parties wishing to hedge their risk, and investors looking to hold the futures until expiry to take delivery of the underlying etc.

I think new traders into the futures market are under the impression that if one trader makes £10 another trader must lose £10. Therefore, assuming that trading is harder than it actually is. The one losing the £10 could be someone who wanted the position for hedging purposes.

So, in the long term it is theoretically possible for all traders to make money.

Hope I make more sense this time.

I scalp 50 - 100 pips a day 3-6 hours trading , so in the short timeframes also money is earned .

2K on 15K account is very well , I get this not every day .....

But some get more if they do well :cheesy:
