Futures Newbie

Hi,

I want to trade mini futures in indices such as mini S&P, mini nasdaq, mini dow jones. Basically what would be the min. account balance required to trade mini futures. Also not sounding too dumb but is it possible to trade mini futures so each tick is represented by pounds. e.g. mini s&p is 0.25 = 12.50 dollars, is there anyway with uk brokers allowing 0.25 = £12.50 instead. Its possible with spread betting.


Also can CFDs have any realtionship with future indices.
