I read somewhere that it is usually profitable to bet on draws in the group stages of the World Cup as no-one wants to lose (obviously). Would have made big money in the last two World Cups apparently.

I would have thought that was priced in?

I have enough volatility in my P/L to need more by betting on the World Cup! I used to bet on crazy stuff on City Index many years ago, multi-corners, total goal minutes etc then gave up as I was just handing money to them. Haven't done any sports betting since, firm policy of mine.
