Why does what I say sound so preposterous?

I'm simply quoting some of the facts as espoused by a prominent church minister. Sure he may be wrong, but I have already seen similar attestations from other independent sources. I believe that the oriental lodge was largely responsible for the spreading of communist doctrine, whilst some of the lodges in the US even had close links with the KKK. Now I know that many of the lodges at the lower levels seem to be merely gentlemens clubs .... when you get to the inner sanctum ( & by that I mean above the 33rd levels i.e. the 98th) there is a more sinister side to the order.
