CANNIBALISM!!were VIRGINS involved

I subscribe to New Scientist magazine and from time to time an invention/research is mentioned that has the potential to be highly profitable - has anyone got any suggestions as to how to 'follow' these ideas from inception to their take-up by a company in which one can buy shares?

This sounds to me like the role of VCs - venture capitalists. Perhaps a scout round a few VC websites might give you a clue as to how they work, otherwise you'll need to nobble a VC and ask!
