Hmm, yours wasn't working for me Johnny, tells me "imbedding denied" whatever that's supposed to mean ?!?

But found this with a pretty tellling insight he wasn't shy to share, along the lines of attack being the best defense I suppose:

Madoff:

"I'm very close with the regulators, my niece just married one."

YouTube - Madoff: "I'm very close with the regulators."

A happy individual, isn't he? Not a care in the world. I saw a photo, in the Spanish press this morning,
of him walking away with a smile on his face from his bail hearing.

He can't find the bail so he is under house arrest.

Nice work if you can get it, but another indication that there is one law for the rich and another for the poor.

Happy guy, yup.

Amazing to think that he started out at age 22 already, cruising the country clubs, attracting investors.

Stuff like that is entirely personality driven.

Not really, my guess is that he was simply lucky enough to have read Little Dorrit and closely observed the character of Merdle that totally exemplifies this form behaviour (he's got it entirely, IMO). Wonderfully drawn by Dickens, of course - Merde Al - a deliberate and excellent pun, n' est pas?

Oh, yeah, and don't forget that post war our Jewish friends were rather in the habit of Anglicising their names to disguise their origins...for obviously reasons. But, Madoff is surely taking the **** big time?

Cheers

just noticed there is some kind of Madoff program. on BBC-2, via iplayer.
BBC iPlayer - This World: The Madoff Hustle

dont know if its a in-depth analysis, or just a ducomentary from perspective of one of the victims.
It investigates the "fraud and its fallout".
hopefully, there is a lot of detail.

Donald Trump talked about meeting him. Bernie strode across the golf course and asked the Donald to invest in his ponzi scam. There was talk previously of druglords and russians losing money at the hands of this clown so maybe jail is the safest place for him, or eh maybe not.
