This is a genuine issue.

I'm waiting for the day that Moodys downgrade US or UK or whatever.

The carnage will be exciting.

Safest treasury in my opinion is the BTP. Country is too chaotic to default.

Didn't we under a previous OldLab administration have to devalue the £ and go cap in hand to the IMF? I hope we are a long way off that!

I understand the Irish Govt is to introduce a 1% levy on all income up to 100k Euros and 2% above that (htis is in addition to all normal income tax etc) and vat is being increased to 21.5%. I know of at least one high earner over there who is jumping ship.
