If we prosper out of the EU, the Scots may well not vote for independence.
I was in Glasgow (a strongly socialist city) recently and spoke to quite a few people from different social groups. Although it was only a straw poll so not statistically significant, a big majority wanted to stay in the Union after Brexit. What was really interesting was that most of them were SNP supporters because they wanted more control over Scottish affairs, not because they wanted independence. And not because they saw Sturgeon as president of a Scottish republic, although most had a grudging liking for her, being a fiery Scottish lass.

They need to bring it down to 3% before they can get access to the EU (part of the entry criteria)
