NEW Political SYSTEM

Can anyone seriously suggest a better system than the current one ?
Just for starters - how about drawing up a list of contenders for the post of Member of Parliament.
This list is thinned out to about 600 members by a knockout series of tests.
After the 600 are selected a cabinet of about 30 is selected the same way from this number, and a Prime Minister is selected from the 30.

P.S. Someone should tell the cleaners at govt. offices that the stain on the floor of Jonny 2 Jags office - you know the one that looks like a map of Australia wasn't made by the moggy after all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

it wont work.
no matter which system you develop, it will always be administered by people.
ALL systems are capable of working perfectly, but are corrupted by conflicting agendas of people.
the consistent weak link is human beings.
sad, but true. ( I am not misanthropic or a pessimist, by the way, merely a keen observer )

give it a whirl anyway. :)

You have hit the proverbial right on Trendie. What I was proposing was the selection of better qualified people. Not just academically but also morally and other factors such as honesty, integrity, public speaking, etc.etc.
Adolph Hitler WAS elected by the clapped out old system. Stalin would have been too, except there was no point in having an election where the result had already been decided - himself to be leader.
I don't think Democracy gives us the leadership we need. Perhaps one of the tests could be a sanity test or warmongering ?? In my opinion the bar should be raised high enough to keep out the sleazey lot from both parties or would that narrow the field too much ? Unatural selection perhaps ??

How about some wisdom from the Oval office?

"If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator,"
GW. Bush

"it wont work.

I am proposing that to be elected you must be able to supply a bona fide death certificate ..ok..this is on the basis that at least 80% of the time the appropriate action is to do absolutely nothing and I can't think of anyone more fitted to doing that than a bunch of corpses.
If we could just get politicians to understand this by convincing them that their term in office would be much extended if they just went on holiday more and 'screwed' about less (sorry JP) with the status quo then we could reduce the cost of rectifying **** ups and supporting public sector pensions with sufficient to entitle us all to a lovely tax cut in perpetuity.
When you think about it if politicans did even more of the old JP wriggle and tried to do less 'work' we might even be on a winner !
This brings into consideration a financial conundrum...would it be cost effective to fix each of them up with a bit on the side.

Thank God he isn't yet - the guy is a walking disaster imo. Hopefully the selection tests would fail him on the sanity and common sense tests.
The electorate couldn't spot the worst despot in human history, nor him either. Methinks they should be relieved of their responsibility - they are obviously not up to the job!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about just good old fashioned accountability. These people don.t give a flying feck as long as they're ok. Hit them where it hurts in their pockets and ********.

What I find strange is the fact that the majority of voters didn't want Tony Blair or Margaret Thatcher as PM, even when they won with huge majorities. They get to do whatever they want for 4 or 5 years with 45% or less of the votes.

If the best MP for a cabinet job is not allowed to do the job because they are not in the elected party, we have to put up with second best for at least 4 years, sometimes decades go by with the wrong people doing the job.

I would like to see the best people doing the cabinet jobs, irrespective of what party they are attached to. Perhaps the cabinet should be divided in proportion to the votes each of the 3 main parties have. The party with the majority chooses the PM and the other jobs are awarded by an elected board of directors that are responsible for their actions and can hire and fire when they want to. That way, there is a better chance of having the best person for each job and they will have to perform or they will be replaced.

When you weigh up the total number of people eligible to vote minus the number who actually bothered to vote . Then minus all the voters who did so as a protest ( B N P, independents, alternative this and anti that ) who is left that gets exactly what they want?

Answer, probably not very many at all.

This country is a joke.

Vote C V. You know it makes sense !

Anyone for crocquet ?????????????????????????????
I think I feel too shagged out for tennis. Yes John after you...............mind the step
oops never mind

hmmm, well if I was a "Member" rest assured, as its been a very damp start to the summer, again as a reminder to other members,( perhaps some of which are bigger than myself),I would seek to accelerate my policy of improving the the weather climate for the citizens of this "United Kingdom" which is to be achieved by Towing the United Kingdom and moring this great land off the shores of the Bahamas, this will of course be fully funded by taxing the French. Germans and Italians respectively.

Defence.

all forces to be given permanent leave as of, they will become self funding and take advantage of seeking and maintaining contracts in the present "global security business" this is likely to be continual and involve policing American embassies around the world(no referance to being mercanaries allowed. mumsy)

The protection of our united kingdom in light of the above.

Appointing of a new minster for the re-establishment of The Department of silly walks. the minister to be known as the minister of silly walks (being highly trained expert in such matters)will provide defence for the united kingdom, by keeping a look out for anything iffy.

We would like to appologise in the closing of the above depart prior to 1913.

Education, Education Education..., Big Stick, Big Stick, Big Stick.

Policing on the streets.
Bigger Stick ,Bigger Stick, Bigger Stick.

Youth Crime. ,its way out of control

With immediate effect the policy for sending troubled young offenders on safari in a perverse form of rehabilition program ,is to cease, however the safari theme will continue as they will now be fed to the lions instead of viewing them. Contracts for pay per view basis via satelitte Tv are already in place ,likely to generate global revenues in excess of £2 billions. Crime will pay ,but not for you lot any more....

Back to core Values .A Proactive Approach, utilising technology.

An agressive re animation and cloning program is currently underway to re animate and clone persons no longer living ,to numbers required ,but who we remember as people who we respected, who guided with responsibility , and disciplined with a swift firm hand, without hesitation when necessary, to assume control of all parenting roles as soon as. Dr. Strangelove jnr. is to head the team.

As for surplus of parents (and i use the term parents loosely) they replace, they are likely to go on a safari ,however sending these to Other Eu member states is also being considered.

Will the honourable member for Vulcan (North-East) please explain how this will affect the civil service ?

Will it still be a case of beaurocracy in triplicate ??
( In triplicate, in triplicate, in triplicate. )

Very much A man for the people and to address bureaucracy I intend to streamline the whole administration process of rule, internal adminstration ,as we know it ,to cease, replaced by "mass vote for instant decisions/ change buttons on those sat. remotes" eliminating all paperwork, external administration will be streamlined on account we will leave no forwarding address when we move out of present waters.

Current bureaucrats will be transfered to work in other Eu member states governments to completely bugger and drain their resources.

Hear,hear,hear......

Hey look if you do ever start your own party or independent state count me in. Meanwhile I hear there may soon be a DP position vacant. Attack the enemy from within etc. Then once you get your finger on the button and aim west they'll be no more need for strimmers... :cheesy:

I propose swapping the roles of Broadmoor ( I assume it hasn't been privatised or something )with the Houses of Parliament.. Can't seem to get the right sort of fella in charge any more.
:cheesy:

yes I have viewed the current political situation and have come to the logical conclusion that they are all vacant.

As for strimmers? hmm my vulcanistic tendicies fail me in some ways, borderline perverse by my ancestors standards, therefore I immediately intend to set up The ministry for Strimming and "Other" rural, and back garden affairs"

My dear rols, i would like you to head the department.......

Spok out.

You have to be very careful about that.
One minute you could be remote-zapping to get the Red Hot Swedish Playboy Channel, and next thing you know, Jordan is elected Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
Stranger things have happened......

And another thing;
if you are going to transport the "United" Kingdom, how are you going to separate Northern Ireland from the Republic ?

And;
are you proposing to skip "over" Ireland, to get to the Caribbean, or "through" Ireland.
(ahhh, thats how to split NI from the Republic)
